I'm thinking about getting my arm hair waxed off is this a good idea? The hairs are long and dark! How will the hairs grow back?

Ask your salon what they think, but over here in Spain it is a normal occurance as many seoritas are like you.  My neighbour has been waxing her arms for 20yrs and I never notice anything untoward, so you should be ok - do not shave them as I did as a teen and they grew back spikey but evenutally all is ok.  Good luck
I tried it once and they grew back a week later! Was good while it lasted though. Maybe bleaching them would be better?

hi, i seriously recommend Boots 'Hair Lightener'. im a naturally dark person, so my arm hairs were also fairly dark, so i tried this as a remedy. it's sooo good! all you do is mix up the peroxide and leave on for 10 minutes and the hairs go a really natural and light blonde colour. it looks so much better i was so pleased! and it all costs about 4.50 and you get loads. definately try it before waxing! let me know how it goes xx

It is a good idea, yes.  the hairs will just grow back the same as before, maybe a little finer.  The first wax will last about 2 weeks, subsequent ones will last about 6 weeks, and after a while they will stop growing at all as the cuticle is so week! (this happened my mother with her leg waxing!)

The hairs will grow back itchy and prickly!! Try a hair mitt. You rub it vigorously over the hairs and they just come off

I wax the hairs on my arms and they do not grow back itchy. they do grow back finer but not straight away. Mine are still quite dark at the moment but i don't let them grow enough for anyone to notice them. I went through a stage when i wouldn't take my cardi off and i always covered my arms which can be really uncomfortable in the summer. I am really glad i decided to wax my arms and i din't regret it at all. You go for it and do what you feel is right. People who don't have this problem will never know how it can make someone feel when they don't like showing off their arms.

Hi there,

Personally, I would advise against it.  Just because the hair is long and dark doesn't mean its unattractive. To be perfectly honest, there are people who actually look for hairy arms on women because they find it to look very nice. To prove my point, www.cproductions.ca is a modelling website where natural beauty, and yes, even girls with hairy arms, are the main models.  Don't think of your arms as something you have to hide - you could even model them for money like some of the women on the site have done!   So in conclusion, think twice before you do this. You are only causing yourself an extra piece of maintenance for a long long time, and taking away part of your natural beauty.
