As I'm now too old to remember when I myself stopped, is there a "rule of thumb" for what age kids are when they stop believing in

a) Santa Claus?
b) the Christmas Fairy (who puts the tree up)?
c) the Tooth Fairy?

I think I was about 7, but I was 9 or 10 before I admitted it to my parents.. I just didnt want to disappoint them..
I think they should be told in the summer before starting high school.
Best time :]

And i was a deprived child - i was never even told about the Easter Bunny. When other children talked about him i thought 'Why doesnt he leave me anything? :O'

best wishes, xx
when they realize that they have to by present to give to you

that's when reality kicks in

i asked a similar question a while ago but i was moaned at for asking it as apparently kids read these posts.

anyway just thought id say that my boys beieve in the tree fairy and think she puts the tree up in the night. they are 2 and 3 with wild imaginations bless them. i have a step son who is 6 and his mom has told him there is no santa- very sad but out of y control.
I have had 4 kids when the oldest stopped believing i asked her to pretend she did for the youngest ones and so she got an extra pressie ... kept it going for many years now my youngest grandchild is 15 yrs all magic gone ...what ashame...twinny
my nephew is 6 and a little girl in his class who happens to be muslim announced to them all that santa isnt real and it is just their parents giving them the presents.
usually when they reach around age 10 or when they enter high school
Having just spent a lovely Christmas with my grandsons aged 4 and 2 and a 3 week old granddaughter, I have to say just let them believe as long as you possibly can, it's magical and they have enough to contend with later on in life. They almost had me believing again!
