twice i have downloaded and tried this.also downloaded the required ascom platform.still cant see a bloody thing.just cant get it to work.is there an easy way? thanks

Hi,There jaberwocky,I read your question did a search for it,loaded it then could'nt find where it loaded looked everywhere for it gave up loaded it again (world wide telescope only) then icon appeared on desktop and it worked been playing with it for hours,not sure if i can help you ? i 'm a real novice with pc but what cannot you see ? i saw somewhere it will only run on windows,i also loaded microsoft.net framework 3.5 (once only) but not sure if i loaded the ascom platform ? do you have the icon shortcut on your desk top ? i do hope you work it out seems quite good to me,Thank you for asking in ab,kind regards.

thanks red,according to what i got,you HAD to install the ascom platform.i had icon on desktop but just couldn't see a damn thing.believe me i tried.oh and a bit of a novice with pc myself!!!
You need the Ascom platform only if you wish to connect your own telescope. Have you checked that your system meets the required spec?

* Microsoft� XP SP2 (minimum), Windows� Vista� (recommended)
* PC with Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 gigahertz (GHz) or faster, recommended
* 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM; 2 GB RAM recommended
* 3D accelerated card with 128 megabytes (MB) RAM; discrete graphics card with dedicated 256-MB VRAM recommended for higher performance
* 1 GB of available hard disk space; 10 GB recommended for off-line features and higher performance browsing
* XGA (1024 x 768) or higher resolution monitor
* Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing and scrolling device
* Microsoft� DirectX� version 9.0c and .NET Framework 2.0
* Required for some features; Internet connection at 56 Kbps or higher through either an Internet service provider (ISP) or a network. Internet access might require a separate fee to an ISP; local or long-distance telephone charges might also apply
