To all of you atheists who do not believe in Jesus Christ, let me wish you all a very merry Christmas, and a happy and peaceful New Year. As I have to ask ask a question in keeping with the raison d'etre of AB, then, let me ask, "Are You Happy?"

I'm happy. And unlike the "smile on a dog" kind of happiness provided by religion I am happy for genuine reasons.
Looks like my post inherited the Theland's unclosed bolding. Maybe this will fix it. Hopefully not bold now?
How about </span>
Still bold?
Or maybe </style>. Still bold?
beso....u having trouble with italics & bold?

for italics its, to begin: < i > to finish < / i > with no spaces, ie like this.

same for bold except insert b instead of i, ie bold
Yes I realise this but the bolding of the end of Theland's their post has carried on to the replies. At least on my computer. I was hoping to close it.

Maybe if I open and close

Still bold?
Content is probably closer.

I've not got an idiotic permagrin on my face, but I've little in liabities column and much on the assets side of the balance sheet.

Happy Christmas to you and all your wrong views, Theland!
My font's gone funny too.
I've reached a level of contentment in my life that I often did'nt think I'd be able to achieve in what has been for me a very difficult life.
Happiness is a difficult thing to quantify some people are happy and just did'nt trealise it until they destroyed it.
Unhappiness is a lot easier to identify, hand on heart I can say that as a rule it's other people who make me unhappy by their selfish actions, but as I have neither the wish desire or the inclination to cut myself from humanity I step forward and smile.
I'm not a huge fan of either but if you look at Richard Dawkins and Dr. Rowan Williams ask yourself who looks the happiest?
Oh! And Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all.

I don't you believe in Theland, and I'm Happy.

Thank you all.
When I'm happy I merely have to ask myself why? That usually settles it.

All the same I believe achieving genuine personal happiness is the greatest gift we have to offer to each other and is a manifestation of the greatest hope for humanity...but then it must be real and so deserved...oh well ;o)
I am very happy thankyou.

I have a secure job, a loving healthy family - all the seriously essential ingredients for happiness.

I do not feel the need to make myself feel secure by thinking of a 'future' after my death, I accept that death is 'the end' and i have no problem with that.
Yes, thanks, Theland. I'm very happy - and that's probably due in part to the fact that I accept that I'm human and I don't drive myself potty with fear of the threat of eternal retribution for committing non-existent sin.
Very kind of you Theland

Although now that you Christians are pretty much a tiny minority in this country and have presumably therefore finished with this celebration it'd be awfully nice if you could let us have OUR MIDWINTER HOLIDAY back again!

The people of these islands were celebrating it for thousands of years before Christianity came along in the 5th Century and pinched it.

And yes I'm very happy, and much more than if I'd spent in grovelling on my knees begging for forgiveness for imagined transgressions from a non-existant deity.

I assume it makes you happy - takes all sorts I guess.

Don't forget to ask him to forgive you your pride
