Has anyone else had to deal with TLC AMA after being swindled out of 99.95 for "looking" at a free Holiday Club promotion ,whilst buying a product from the Vector Home Shopping Channel ??

Basically,I bought something from Vector over the phone and was asked if I was interested in looking at a holiday club membership. They said there was no obligation to join etc ,so I agreed to take a look.

Shortly after ,99.95 was taken from my account ,even though I didnt want the damn thing and I have since found out TLC AMA were responsible.I have read several answers on this database from people in similar positions with TLC AMA but the problem is ,I no longer have the package that they sent and they are stating they will not refund my monies unless they get the pack back.

Has anyone out there had any luck in getting their money back ,even though they weren't in a position to return the membership pack or even better ,does anyone know if what they have done is actually legal ??

If you paid for this with a debit or credit card, phone the card issuer and say that you never authorised this payment and want a refund.
I have had the same problem, only finding out today when looking at my bank statement. I telephoned the bank and asked for there advice.  Fortunately they were really helpful and said that they would send out a form for me to complete to say that I never gave authorisation for this ammount to be debited.  They said that once they received the completed form they would give me a full refund.  I bought an appliance off Vector in good faith and have to say I don't recall being asked about the holiday offer.  Even if I was they should have said that my card details were being passed to another company!  I too would like to know if this is a legal practice. I have lost all faith in purchasing things over the telephone and internet. Just to say that this is the first time I have ever purchased anything from a sky shopping channel.  I just now have to hope that I am safe buying things over the counter! Keep watching Watchdog and lets see if the story airs on their show.
I have sent an email to Watchdog to ask them to look into this matter.  I suggest everyone else with this problem does the same!

Hi,

I purchased an excersise machine from the shopping channel 4 weeks ago, which I gave my card details over the phone to process the payment and order. Only today I checked my back statement and found that a company Tlc, Ama has taken 99.98 out of my account for a holiday membership which I have not requested nor given them autherisation to debit 99.98 from my account. I have contacted my bank to see if they can help, but they have said it could take up to 10 weeks for the dispute to be delt with. I cant believe that they have taken money from my account without my permission as surley that is an illegal affence or has the law changed?.

I would most appreciate a response from anyone that has experienced the same problem, or anyone that has infomation that may help.
