have a renault laguna with card key. this is still live but car battery appears completely dead and can not activate opening the car. is there a way to overide and open the car

I presume you have the Laguna 11.

Take the emergency key out of the card by pulling the black piece on the card, gently prise off the cover on the passenger front door handle, insert the key, turn it, open the door.

Then get a drivers handbook.
