Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

14 across: I, for one, will probably start, dear. LE_ _ E_, is this LETTER or LEADER, or something completely different?

31 across: Incline, you say, to agree. _S_E_ T. obviously ASCENT or ASSENT, but which way round is the clue?

I would go for letter on 14 across.
on 31a I would go for Ascent, which is incline and you would say that if you were agreeing

31a Good question, I took it aa (incline, you say) (to agree) = assent.

As someone who does the crossword online I can confirm that

14a is Letter (Dear Sir etc)
31a is Assent (Ascent = Assent (to Agree))

I see the LETTER solution now, but 31 is clearly another one for the Telegraph Crossword Commemorative Toss-a-Coin which I'm sure they'll be marketing at �29.99 as a special offer very soon...

Hi Paul - long time, no chat. Thanks for that, but it's still a poor clue. Even the commas don't excuse the ambiguity.

By the way, how is the online site behaving? I'm so fed up paying �1.90 each Sunday for a load of rubbish and two crosswords I'm thinking of subscribing.
