A slightly odd question perhaps, but does anyone know of any plays or novels written from the perspective of an occupied people?

You could try The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. A beautiful book about ordinary Germans under Nazi rule. Stick with the first few pages as it is quite difficult to get into, but it is one of my favourite books.
You could see if there is a novel written about the occupation of the Channel Islands by the Germans during the second world war.

I have read a couple of factual books, but I am sure there must a be a few novels written by people who lived on Jersey or Guernsey about that time.

A search in Amazon may find one.
sorry, I think I misunderstood your question
Appointment with Venus by Jerrard Tickell - fiction, but based on a real incident on Sark during WW2.
Does Captain Correlli's Mandolin count ?
The Moon is Down - written in 1942 by John Steinbeck - depicts Nazi occupation of a fictional Scandinavian town. You can read the whole thing here:

translations by brian friel is a classic play about occupation. it's set in Ireland during the time when the English came over and changed all the places names from the Gallic.

SS-GB by Len Deighton about the Nazi occupation of Britain. Plus I think there was a similar one by Robert Harris recently but I can't remember its name and can't get onto Amazon at the moment to check it :-(
oh, I was thinking of Fatherland, but that isn't really about occupation, it's set in Germany after Germany won the war. But SS-GB is set in Britain.

There's also a film, It Happened Here

There is a somewhat obscure novel set in Guernsey during the German occupation called "The Book of Ebenezer Le Page". I forget the author but a Google or Amazon may elucidate.
