Hi,

Saw my new GP this morning and was going through my prescription and he asked me if I'd ever had a HLB 47 blood test.

Have no idea and don't even know what it is, does anyone know?

Sorry jen, never heard of it.
Hi jen.

It means a test to see how well your blood coagulates.

Obviously I don't know anything about you medically or what medication you are on so I can't say why he would want to test your blood for this.
HLB is to do with coagulation(clotting) usually so it may be that they want to test your blood clotting times.

So sorry, my ears are worse than I think sometimes, GP just rang to check something and I checked and he said it was a HLA B27 blood test.

Thanks for your answers though :)
Ah, that's a different kettle of fish!

HLA blood tests can detect a variety of things, including arthritis, joint infection, spondylitis etc.

Ahhh that would make sense.

Am checking with rhumatology as hopefully they should know.

I've been taken off my sulfasalazine as all my glands were all swollen up the other day and was told it might be a reaction so waiting to see if I can go back on them before I sieze up again :)

Ouch, that sounds painful.

I hope all goes well for you. xx
