All we have is the norma Theiest tollerance of another Theiests belief.
I am not very aware of the contents of the Koran but I am willing to bet it doesn't mention Christmas.
But has some obscure thing about other gods that this guy has interpreted in his way.
I know lots of muslims who enjoy Christmas and let them, they don't have to take the symbols.
I don't celebrate Ede but I am quite happy to let the Muslims enjoy there thing.

This is what it is all about, sometimes serious when one feels a subject should be open for discussion, other times somewhat more frivolous.
I know I may sometimes post subjects that others entirely disagree with, but then that is the nature of the game. There is no need for anyone to turn nasty, throw insults and completely be offensive.
Take the Daily Mail some on here go completely over the top in their condemnation of this newspaper, fair enough perhaps it's not everyone's choice. but then again it must have something taking into account the popular vote (numbers of copies sold).
But I think that this condemnation has been done enough and we all know what side we are on, so lets continue to choose if we read their reports or not. But let's face it they do tend to be the most posted subjects on answerbank.

No Quinlad not offended, just a little bored by the continuous slagging off of the Daily Mail by some on this site.
They will even be offensive and personal to myself over this, to a certain extent I suppose I do get a little offended over this, but then i suppose most people do where these matters are concerned.
Most times, it will often amuse me, that some have to go to these lengths to try and persuade people not to read both my posts and the Daily Mail reports, WHY?
If enough people also have the same feelings regarding the Daily Mail, surely they will stop reading it, then it will go out of business. Until then disagree with what they print by all means, but please allow others to also choose, what newspaper or newspapers they read. Because we live in a democracy and without the freedom of the press, what do we have?
It makes one wonder what these people are so frightened about..

For someone who bemoans the lack of backbone in this once great country and who dislikes limp-wristed lefties and who wonders why others are so frightened, I'm surprised you get so het up about what others say about your choice of rag. I'd expect you to be a bit tougher.
You seem to have a very odd view of freedom as well. Of course there should be freedom of the press. Just as there should be freedom to criticise the press. Just as you're free to argue back against criticisms of the press. No-one's stopping anyone. Where's the problem?

If fear of being labelled makes someone think twice, what's wrong with that? The more thought the better.
By actually considering what they're saying, they can either turn round and say 'Actually, it's not racist and here's why...' or they'll realise that maybe what they were about to say is racist and alter their opinion.
It's called looking at the situation from both sides. I'm all for that. You?
