I think it's called "Wonderful world"

Still thinking about the artist though

I think you mean "Wonderful World" by Sam Cooke, recording in 1960.

it was also released in 70/80s by Brian Ferry.
Johnny Nash also released it in 1975
Art Garfunkel also did a cover.
eva cassidy
Louis Armstrong

sorry gone mental! - i was thinking of the wrong song...

What a Wonderful World

last one to show i have corrected myself!

Lyrics:

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took

But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonomitry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for

But I do know one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now I don't claim, to be an A-student
But I'm trying to be
For maybe by being an A-student, baby
I could win your love for me

{repeat first two blocks)

terence trent darby did a brilliant live version of it on the tube once , even adding a new verse-

"don't know much about the middle ages, hell i just flick thru the pages...."
