Oh tinkerbell! That's so not right!! I'm amazed, and slightly worried x
Hmmm, if she is worried then get her to get a second opinion or referral to get it checked out.

The first time I discovered a lump I got a locum who couldn't speak much English, kept looking thigs up in a book and muttering about cycles and had I had a leaflet (???) then eventually said he supposed he should examine me.

I just sat there and looked at him as there was a window behind with builders outside and he eventually got up, tutted and pulled a curtain across, gave it a quick squeeze and said I was too young and was probably nothing.

I went to see a friend after and her mum has experience of breast issue and demanded I go back for another appointment. Got a lady doctor (she said ladies are better for this kind of thing, know breasts better, and always see the same one as they remember the feel).

The locum hasn't even made a note I'd been in, she seemed very embarrassed and apologetic and never saw him there again after that. She found 2 lumps on examination.

Lumps are not always easy to feel. For one of mine (had quiet a few!) the breast surgeon themselves couldn't find it but they found it on ultrasound to do a biopsy.

If she is concerned then she should go back and either get things explained to her more clearly or get referred to be checked out.

I will most definately show her this- i think shes going to see if the pain clears up and then possibly go back- it was actually a man doctor so maby she should ask for a nurse! U can just never be too careful i suppose! Ive been before with a lump in my armpit and i got made to feel really silly about it!!

x
I must agree tinkerbell, Tell your mate to see another doc,she should have a scan at least. In all hope it wont be anything serious but just to be on the safe side.
