Words and Pictures

There was a kid's show on in the 80's maybe? Called Words and Pictures... and it taught them how to write and count etc.

There was a little black and white cartoon guy in it... a very small man who used to hop around and sing along with things... does anyone remember his name? Or can they send me a link to a picture/clip of him? Of course he's not real - but I just want a pic to show people.
