I don't know, pauldavies - what is your VAT number?

Is your company registered for VAT?
How long is my piece of string?
cant be diffucult to find, should be on all your invoices & paperwork + your VAT return !!!!
69
If none of the above helps, as a last resort you could try phoning Customs and Excise National Advice Service on 0845 000 0200. They would probably need to know your business name, so if you are able to track that down first it might help smooth the conversation a bit.
How old are you Paul?
It should be shown on your VAT Registration Certificate. That is if you are VAT registered.
You seem to be asking what a 'vat number' is.Have you received some bill, business or official document asking for your VAT ['value added tax'] number?

You only have a VAT number if you are a registered VAT business. You have to be registered if you have a turnover above a certain level.Once you are registered you charge all your customers VAT on the goods and services you provide. On the other hand, you deduct VAT you've been charged on goods and services you've had to buy to run your business. You then have to fill in a VAT return and send it to the VAT office and pay or receive the difference.

You may be asked for your VAT number in some business enquiries, as a matter of form.If you aren't registered you haven't got one to give (but ought to find out whether you have to be registered!)
I wouldn't worry, it doesn't sound like you have a business with a turnover in excess of 67k so you don't need to worry your little head about it. Just leave the box on the form blank or put "not Applicable"
