how do you remove a cat d record on a car

i purchesed a car damaged and the hpi i done came back clear after 8 months i checked again and it then came back as a cat d. i have since found out that the original smash was not recorded but there was a second fraud claim against the same car the insurers cat d the car but the accident never happened. if the claim/accident never occured it was fraud how can they cat d the car. i know the car was smashed when i purchesed it but the original owners did not go thru the insurance? so by rights it should be removed?

contact the dvla and enquire about it,thay are the only ones who can remove it or contact the insurance company that put it on the car in the first place.
