Urgent Clutch Query

My son's 2002 Ford Focus has a leak in the footwell. It seems to be coming from the clutch pedal. Can anyone help me ? Its quite a big leak

90% sure it's oil

The clutch feels ok but sometimes it's heavy and sometimes it's light. I know there is a harsh sound from under the bonnet under heavy acceleration

I'll check the fluid levels tomorrow, too dark and cold now
doc spock,you seem to be living in the 60s again, clutch cables are a thing of the past,they are mostly hydraulic now,
it'll be coolant from the heater i bet
chances are the clutch master cylinder has gone, it shouldnt cost too much its a minor repair
doc spock i think youll find its the other way round, most cars nowadays have hydraulic clutches
