Tax allowance for medical insurance

I saw a recent tax assessment which showed an amount for this. Buy I thought the current govt.had abolished such relief.

You are correct - the cost of premiums for private medical insurance paid for by an employer is a taxable perk and one pays tax on its value.

Thanks. I was looking at medical insurance from the point of view of one who just about manages to afford the premiums, paid for out of my taxed pension.
