Years ago I saw an old American b&w film in which there were several scenes on a train.

People sitting on the train were repeatedly saying Heinie Manush over and over to the rhythm of the train.

I know Heinie Manush was an old baseball player but can't find the title of the film anywhere.

Any suggestions?

I think this is a 1942 film called Obliging Young Lady directed by Richard Wallace. It starred Edmond O'Brien, Joan Carroll and Ruth Warrick. I think the scene you are referring to is O'Brien's character telling a girl that the noise of a passing train sounds like "Heine Manush, Heine Manush, Heine Manush."

Of such things are legends born.

I don't know if it's available on video/DVD.

Good luck with finding it.
