I have just been appointed Trustee of the Keys to not only the stationery cupboard, but also the cleaning supplies cupboard. The responsibility is overwhelming and even though I have been here 12 years I really don't know whether I'm ready for this accolade.

However, at the moment I am sauntering around the surgery swinging my keys on a chain & whistling Johnny Cash Folsom Prison songs.

But Sal, I have done that job and I must say half the supplies ended up in my house!!!!

I got really strict as I had a budget and I was saying to staff
"Do you really need that pen" "Another ruler what happened to the last one" etc.

I already have a car boot full of toilet rolls and Jif. Also some sellotape in preparation for xmas, and marker pens just because I like the smell of the tips...

No pay rise I'm afraid - you take possession of these keys just for the honour and the power.

Well, I was sauntering & swinging, now I'm obviously working hard & back on AB. I shall make sure I have an hourly saunter though - just so they know who is the new boss woman.

Maybe I'm showing my age here - but Googie Withers played the Guv'nor of a women's prison in a tv series roundabout the mid-70's.

the series was called Within These Walls.
A Prisoner Cell Block 'H' in the making... but not so amateurish, or funny. And definitely no butch lesbians.
