I've just made myself an omelette for lunch.

It's a bit manky, actually.

Please ... reassure me that I'm not alone in being less than brilliant in the kitchen.

I don't think I'd want you to leave either, ummmm.

mccfluff ... an omelette should be easy, but the edges were a bit crispy, the middle was sloppy, the outside was hard and brown.

And I didn't have the heat on very high.

I just drowned it in tabasco and wolfed it, but it was really disappointing.

You cook omelette's like scrambled egg. When it's starting to set take it off the heat and put it under the grill. fold it over and slide it out of the pan....
