here is a test for this system - which bored, kind, under 20 y/o person of dubious parentage, stole two of the hubcaps off my BM at the weekend?

the BM is an original 318i touring (estate) and came with steel wheels and hubcabs, not alloys as fitted to the later ones - erica

It was probably my ex-boyfriend, he once had some hub-caps off a Corsa to go on his car.  He was a sad little so and so though, and did things like that "for a buzz"
