My wife (aged47) is frequently tired. She has asked me to find out why! She works full time, has a good diet and we have 2 kids. Is there something she could take or eat to give her more energy? Any ideas?

anaemia - iron deficiency?

try basic vit pills. If that fails I would go the GP and ask for a blood test.

I fancy I'd be permenantly tired if I worked full time and had 2 kids! She has , in effect 3 jobs! ie, outside work, the house and the children!!
Perhaps she wants you to pamper her. Are the kids old enough for you to take her away for a holiday?
The menopause makes you very tired for no good reason. You might like to think about supplements, as these have helped me very much. Read The Wisdom of Menopause by Dr Christiane Northrup. Giving up caffeine makes a difference.
I know this is the old stand by but she should get a check up from the GP as there are lots of things that it could be which are quite fixable Le Chat does have a point though and maybe she does need to do a bit less for a start???
Lack of iron???? Depression???? Menopause???
I was very tired all the time for several years.  I had a homeopathic allergy test and it was found I had a yeast intolerance.  Had to change my diet, but it worked.

The answer is in the question. She's tired because she has a ful time job and 2 kids.

The remedy is obvious - you should do more to help.

She should have her thyroid checked.   Low thyroid condition makes you feel practically exhausted all the time.
