This laptop has been sitting for some time .When pluged in it will not respond .The green power light is on but the when the power button is pressed it does not respond .Does it it take a while for the dead battery to respond to power line does it have to be charged for a while or is there a problem or a way of testing if the laptop is working .Hope this explains the problem .

The best thing to do is remove the power connector and battery and then hold down the button that usually powers the laptop up.

Then reconnect the battery and power cable and leave it to charge for 5 mins or so.

Then power on the laptop and hopefully it should come back to life.

Thank you I did this and yes the battery did come on but not enough power to start up the computer .The power lead seems to be faulty as no power is going into the laptop to power the llaptop or charge the battery .Will keep you posted .
