1: a guy who went to university, gained at least a Degree, and from this it has lead him to a very Successful Career

or

2: a guy who left school at 16, has a Job, but come from a very Wealthy Family.

for me personally i would choose option 1.

Money is not always the answer. I mean, look at Woody Allen - I just couldn't, even if my life depended on it !! there is a lot more to life than a career and money. I would prefer someone who is kind, honest, considerate - someone who takes care of me and loves me for who I am. Whatever it in his bank balance is meaningless...

i read an interesting article in the mail i think, about men who support famous women and who cant possibly earn as much money as they do and still love them and are loved by them...........emma bunton was one, mylene kass was another, but there were more.

Lack of paper qualifications doesnt make someone thick, lack of money does not make someone a failure..........

if he is the man who makes your toes curl and your body yearn, then he is "the one" regardless and the rest is semantics !!!

Degrees and other qualifications do not go hand in hand with intelligence at all. Some people with degrees are thick and some without are highly intelligent. In fact, some of the most intelligent people have no qualifications whatsoever - Richard Branson didn't do too badly!!!

A degree often just indicates that you can pass exams and have a good memory. Intelligence is so very much more. In fact, some of the most intelligent people fail miserably at Uni because it stifles them and bores them rigid.
LoftyLottie, we are going to have to forget that chocolate bath.......some people with degrees are "thick"?.....a bit disengeuous Lofty, no commonsense maybe, but "thick?"
Richard Branson ..Public School education, perhaps not degree, but not a bad start to an educational career.

Still would not say no to that bath.
'Thick' was a bit strong - sorry. But I have met people with degrees who have worked very hard for a degree (no disrespect to them at all) but really are not very intelligent and have got there by sheer hard work and determination, (again, that is very good). I agree that sometimes a degree is a first step in a career and is necessary.

I sincerely believe Intelligence cannot be measured by qualifications though. Some people can sail through examinations, yes even at first degree stage, but other's are not made that way.

Too many degrees about anyway nowadays - everybody is pushed in that direction, wrongly so in my opinion.

Chocolate bath is off then!! Oh, you are so fickle ;o)

Sorry, just realised that you said the chocolate bath could still be on. I take back my last sentence. ;o)

I agree with what Pickle has just said....it was what I was thinking as I read thru the posts.
I was married to a very 'intelligent' man...he had a Doctorate.......but he was completely lacking in common sense, and hadn't a clue how to cope with day-to-day practicalities sometimes. He was also very cold emotionally.......all that 'cleverness' does not guarentee a mind that you can bond with. Sometimes the complete opposite.
I think You got more than what you expected from all above posted answers.
One common thing in all is that TREAT LOVE MATTERS SEPARATELY FROM CAREERS AND MONEY ISSUES.

Enjoy
Yes bms, but what do you do. when "love" flies out of the window, which it will eventually do? Careers an money matters may help to soften the blow.
Cynical........too right I am.
I agree with you, but what I was trying to say is that "to love someone, you don't basically need to look at how successful he is, and how much is in his bank account".

Money is something we we all depend on to SURVIVE (not to love).
