Does anyone remember making badges out of shrunken crisp packets - you would put them in the oven and the would come out perfect minitures that you could put a safety pin in and wear as a badge (I was 10!) I have just tried to do one for my daughter but the packaging must have changed as it just shrivelled up - anyone know how to do them?

I certainly do...and yep I think the crisp packets have changed the "materials" used as it no longer works

Boo!!!
We used to do them in the coal fire - holding them carefully and melting them over the flames - god wouldn't you have a fit if your kids did that now! I think that the packaging is probably different now, all that foil lining and stuff. might still work with something like space raiders or something - only that wouldn't really make a cool badge would it!!
i do

but i bet now you would get told off for breaking some elf and safety law
omg use a safety pin, children are you mad!!!
looking on a few sites alledgely the best ones to use nowadays is peanut bags, which work just as good as they did "back in the day"
I used to do it when I was about nine

teen.
Pudi a safety pin is safe for kids hence the name.
Totally different from your disagreement with cazz i think eh ?

And anyone remeber getting the foam for sealing windows to make foamy can tops?
like you won at the fairground?
Totally not a dig at cazz but at the system, thank you!!!
