We are a young couple looking to move in together into rented accomodation in the new year. This will be our first time researching our options and it will be in london. What is the best way of finding one bedroom flats or houses to view? We are planning to move in the 1st week of 2009 so is it too early to view properties?
We would appreciate any feedback, thanks!

you should start looking as most Leasing Agents will want to check you out for rental, eg that you are employed and able to pay the rent and they should take references up etc. It can take a while and theres not long left till they shut for xmas

did this help lol
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/action/publicsite.P ropertySearch

Property sites and local rental Agents sites give you an idea of whats available and at what price, how near they are to public transport etc etc
There are loads of great online sites- try Gum tree

Also easyroommate.com, flatemateclick, roombuddies

I would also advertise in the paper in whatever Borough you would like to live, if there is one.

You can go through estate agents but be prepared for them to reference you to death, take 2 months rent in advance as well as a months deposit, and possibly a guarantor. They will also be more expensive as they take their 10% commission out of the rental price.
