Depends on the country - some countries allow you to hold dual nationality. Some don't. I believe its possible to hold a UK passport and another passport
As long as you are entitled to hold those passports, there is nothing wrong in having more than one.

As bobs1975 says, some countries forbid their citizens from holding other citizenships, which might render that nation's passport void, since it would generally lead to revocation of the citizenship of that nation.

The UK is not one of them - people born in Northern Ireland, for example, can generally choose to obtain British, Irish or both passports.

Thanks guys. just in a panic as i was told we couldn't have more than one, for the kids as they we born in South Africa, they have Dad's English one and I am from Channel Islands originally so they have that one too. Don't want to break law when we visit!!!
Hi Lush-Lulu

I also carry British and South African passports, all you need to remember is that acording to South african Law if you have a South African passport, you must enter and leave South Africa with that passport, after you leave South Africa, you can then use your British passport.
