Hello, I have just bought a 150 Spacecam Portable by a company called Trust.  I have had nothing but problems when trying to get my laptop to accept the hardware, so much so that it started to restart, then restart, then restart.  I ended up running my windows xp in safe mode so that I could uninstall all the gumpf that came with the dam thing!  I went to a well known computer store ".....World" and they advised me to buy a USB Hub, which I did, but it has made absolutely NO difference!  Has anyone out there got any suggestions as to what I can do, apart from bin it!  Can anyone recommend a decent, inexpensive but compatible with windows xp home edition, webcam?  Ta very much in advance, you wonderful people!

Go for a Creative or Logitech one.  I have never had a problem with either manufacturers.

If you're adamant to keep the one you've bought, you could take it to '......World' and have sort it for you seeing as their advice didn't work and bought the hub, they surely owe you! Or send the lot backand take Kerplunk's advice. Hope you sort it!
Agree with kerplunk`s advice on choice of make
I cannot see for the life of me what difference it would make, plugging a webcam in via a USB hub no matter what make it was.
The only thing I can think of that they may have meant, was upgrading your PC to USB 2.0 if it is an older one, which would be achieved by installing a USB 2.0 card into a spare PCI slot
However, this too would have been poor advice as I believe the 150, being a very low spec . 100k model, is probably only USB 1.1 standard anyway.
