Hey Ice, I haven't got any ferrets!

that necessity tho... pointless kills for fashion are horrible.
yes - it's mine. My husband was looking at mink coats, but there's no way i'd wear a real fur one, although I have two stuck upstairs which were handed down from my grandma.
Terambulan has a point though - no one says anything about Induit indians who have no other way of clothing themselves, although they tend to use every part of their kills. if we were stuck in the north pole, i think we'd ALL do it. What's gross, is when beautiful animals are killed for the sake of it, just to make some women feel good.
Chappie - thank goodness for that. I can't stand the things!!! x
No Chappie....the ferrets are mine.

AutomaticGal....the animals are bred for the purpose same as chickens/sheep/cattle etc. The animals have got to be kept in 'best' conditions to get good pelts and are gassed when mature......same as what will happen to your cat at its end.

IM NOT GONNA GAS MY CAT!!!!! im not gonna wear its fur for a fashion statement! i have better things to wear.

sheep fur, leather fine thats ok as the meat will be used too. but WTF about polar bears or an arctic fox? killed for fur and fur only.
There are limits....not protected species like tigers leopards etc think it may be difficult to kill a polar bear. Only farmed vermin type which have got to be controlled or culled to protect poultry for food.

Your kitten will soon bring in birds and mice even though it has a full stomach. Am sure you would soon have any rats killed. Or dispose of moles in your lawn....
I can't bring myself to say how leopards and tigers are killed for their pelts, to be used in the fashion industry. they aren't gassed - and it's terrible.
If an animal's going to be used for its meat, as well as its coat - such as a sheep - then I can sort of accept that, but to kill just for the sake of a new jacket or wrap is repugnant.
Question Author
i agree with you there ice.
AutomaticGal...one fox can kill more than 300 chickens in one night.....they bite off the heads of the chickens and leave them as 'tis their nature to return and feed on the carcase.

Poultry farmers are closing businesses due to these pressures and that's y a lot of poultry is imported (from less restrictive countries).

I hate to see grey squirrels killed as they're considered vermin.....squirrel coats were once popular.
