what a load of rubbish!
My poor mum has been paying over the odds with these since she decided to get her phone and broadband combined.
We have phoned up so many times. The last two months she has paid almost double what she has been quoted.
To get to speak to someone is really difficult and then when we do we don't understand each other!
It is driving me mad.
Is anyone else having problems?

well, i certainly wouldn't recommend their customer service!
She was already on t'internet with them and thought, like you, it would be better to combine the two. She left BT and went for the superduper offer they were advertising at the time. They then charged her the new offer, PLUS the old price. It took literally months to sort out. When we finally spoke to an English person (the first in about eight contacts) he said he had sorted it out once and for all.
She checked her bank statements this morning anf htey've taken THREE lots out - twice!

oops! I aplogise for my slurring there - a touch of the Katonas! (I'm not drunk - honest)
Hi
I have been with Tiscali for about 10 years when they took over Lineone, I have gone from PAYG dial-up to 1/2 Mb broadband and when they combined home phone and up to 8Mb broadband I went for it and have never looked back.
All my friends and families (about 160 in total) all have the same package and to date only 3 problems have arisen and been sorted out within a couple of weeks via e-mail not phone. All ISP`s experience probs but give them time to get through them all and most sort them out, don`t forget they have millions of customers.

If they have millions of customers, they should have sufficient customer services!!
Don't have any personal experience with them, but from what I've heard over the years, I wouldn't touch them with your bargepole!
Im with ugly_bob on this one, i was with Toucan surf *same company and they tried to shaft6 up but i finally got the better of them now with BT.....Hmmmmmm not great but still looking for the best

personally, i'm with virgin (formally ntl) and have never had any problems. Trouble is, if she switches now, she probably won't get her money back.
I'd summarise Tiscali by saying that when it is set-up and running it works fine.
But when a problem occurs (mine was over billing) it is a swine to get sorted out. Their ability to answer customer service phone lines in any sort of reasonable timeframe - at any time it claims to be open - is pathetic and of course one is sitting on an expensive 0870 number on which they make money. They contracted part of this service out to one of the Baltic states (Lithuania I think) and these people lacked in the English-speaking department.
if you want a real number for any company just google "saynoto0870" and it leads to a website that lists them all -tiscali is 020 33028416 which is their customer care and billing line -also i've been with tiscali for 5 years now with no problems - also if you do get an indian call centre just hang up and redial as not all the calls go through the call centre - try to phone during the day when it is more likely to be answered by someone in this country

You haven`t tried it so don`t criticise it
I have been with them from the beginning over 10 years brilliant service and have had only 1 problem which was solved via e-mail
So **** OFF and go after ISP`s who don`t answer e-mails as well.
