Oh, poor you XX

I got a cold and chesty cough two weeks before I was due and it was miserable. The only thing I can suggest is lots of fluid and lots of rest and paracetamol if you need it! And definitely do not take Lemsip or anything like that.

Hope you start feeling better soon, I think you should stay in your jammies, put your feet up, drink lots of hot drinks and stay home and watch Loose Women :-)

if only!!! im stuck in work!! this is hell, i was off last week as my back has been playing up!! im only 15 weeks and i have already been warned about my sick!! you would think they would mark it down as special leave rather then sick, i dont want to take to much time off anyway, i was warned i may suffer with my back throughout! so no doubt ill be off work later down the line!! ill have to just stick it out :o(
If it's any consolation I got to around 5months and my back pain was agonising, and I was so worried about how I would continue to work as I assumed it would get worse as the pregancy went on but it seemed to clear up and it was fine (or as fine as a pregnant woman's back can be!) from then on. I think it may have just been baby's position and as she got bigger she moved and so took the pressure off.

I would check about them warning you re taking sick leave, I know workplaces differ but our place weren't allowed to pursue sickness absences any differently to when you weren't pregnant, except in the last four weeks of pregnancy whereby if you go sick with a pregnancy related illness they can begin your mat leave from that date (in this case back ache would probably start your leave early, but a cold wouldn't). I worked until I was 39weeks but went sick at 37weeks for four days as I had an awful cold and chesty cough, I returned to work and then left just before my due date.

its just that we can only be off for 3 periods over a year and then we get offically warned, so far its only been the once with my back, but im worried as the time goes on things get worse, i mean i put up with work all through feeling sick, which lasted months!! lol i just couldnt cope sitting at my desk with the back ache and fair enough the cold isnt pregnant related but i just feel so rough :o( im just feeling so sorry for myself!! im only 15 weeks and i havent had one day since i found out that i havent felt some sort of illness :o( i hope when the cold goes i feel better, i would love some proper food without feeling sick!! lol

hehe :o)
