i am a male of 26 and am meeting a 19 year old girl tomorrow for a date.

Basically i need some ideas as i am so old to the dating game, having been single a few years, do i buy a present? also we have all day to meet so am wondering wether meeting in the morning is a good idea as we might both be bored by lunch lol

i live near the coast so was thinking maybe a romantic stroll on the beach then get some drinbks or a dvd and drinks at mine?

I have a free house so it seems a shame to waste it, we could pretend its our house! although im a bit wary of letting a stranger into my home and also iff she turns out to be a bit nuts she will know where i live!

theres not much really to do around here to be honest aparty from the usual norm, but women ddont want usual norm do they !!

it's the first date so take it easy and don't appear too strong. Spend the time getting to know her and her interests 19 yesr olds are a lot different than 26 year olds. What she wants from the date may also differ so perhaps ask her how she would like to spend the time. Dinner is a nice way
What do you mean "If she turns out to be a bit nuts?"

All women are nuts..maybe not on the first date but it`s lurking within them

Good Luck
Even though I am a nutcase, I would be a bit wary of going back to a chaps on a first date.

Though walk along the beach sounds nice
I agree with pink. If you buy a present on the first date, it might appear that you're coming on too strong - and don't automatically think that a stroll along the beach's going to turn into a "romantic" one. Could be raining and cold, anyway. depending on where you are.
Take her to a place of interest - a wildlife park, seal sanctuary, round a market or shopping mall, and stop off for a coffee and/or lunch. Then a meal in the evening. Don't assume anything else, either, but tell her you've enjoyed the date - if you have - and say you'd like to see her again. x
I agree, that this does seem a bit much for a first date.................

and i certainly wouldnt want to go to someones house on the first date either................................

DO NOT INVITE HER TO YOUR HOUSE! She will think you are only after one thing and if you want to see her again, this will ruin it.

Also, dont buy her anything. She will probably be a bit embarrassed. If she is the sort of girl that expects you to buy her something, don't go out with her again!!
dont invite her to your house and dont buy her a present both will sem desperate ! x Do treat her well like open doors for her and stuff but dont worship the ground she walks on . . you are a person too and if she sees that you are a bit of a oush over then you are in the boring bin on the first date ! at the same time dont be arrigant cos she will read you like a book ! just be yourself dont swear and dont get drunk( although if are meeting in the morning iam hoping u wont be ) dont try and act like you know about stuff just to impress her - just say you dont know and let her enlighten you ! try doing something fun but something you think she would necessarily do all the time ! maybe you have an ice rink near you ! or the cinema is always a good one as you dont have to talk to each other (and you get to sneak peeks at her ) and then afterwards you will have something in common to talk about which will be great ice breaker ! also just lastly when you greet her straight off dont try and kiss her ! leave that to the end if all goes well ! and then leave it at that !!! Us women want to know that we are not getting it all upfront and it sometimes is a test in disguise if you take the bait she will know you are only after one thing !

Tell her she looks really nice but dont drool on her ! x let us all know how it goes !!
Hi monk,
I agree, don't buy her anything on your fist date & don't invite her back to yours for many reasons! Have other plans sorted in case the weather is against you, have fun too! xxx
I think I mirror the other posts above, by saying if you buy her a present, and invite you to her house it will appear too strong on your side. DO however buy her a drink, and pay for any meal you may have together, and if she is not nuts then offer to give her you number, and ask to see her again. I have lost more than one girl of my dreams by failing to make a second date at the time of the first one.

Hope this helps.
I agree. invite her back if you're after a sh*g. if you're after a relationship it's a no-no.

good luck :o)
Is she fit?
aaaaaaaaaaw bless your wee soul. haha

Ok..i'm 20 years old and personally think the gift idea is sweet HOWEVER u run the risk of two things...firstly She may think your trying to buy her or secondly like the gifts and continue to date you hoping for more!

You obviously like the girl & on a first date she should not be showered with gifts...its too strong & may be the only reason she carrys on seeing you.

I really respect myself and think if a guy asked me back to his on a first day not only would i be unimpressed as its not showing much effort...The walk sounds better, more effortless but meaningful...Watching dvd's at yours will happen on normal days. The first date should be more special. Take a walk someplace, watch the stars...cheesy maybe but every girl loves a romantic!

Good luck.
Keep us posted!!!!!
