I am in my early 20s and a plus size and recently saw a great black waistcoat in my size.I am thinking of buying it but I dont want to look old fashioned as I am quite trendy for a plus size. So can anyone till me if they are still in fashion or on there way out.

no idea, but are you implying fat people arent usually trendy?
depending on where you "plus size" fat is, i wouldnt recomend a waistcoat - on girls they accentuate big busts and hips, and on men the accentuate a beer belly
OK if your are a banker or going to a wedding :-)
I think waistcoats dont really look good on anyone with any curves at all. Unless its a waistcoat corset http://fairygothmother.co.uk/newimages2/kk-10. jpg and then its all lovely.
yes but I doubt they will be for long
Oh wow Goodsy, I've fallen in love....

Hi fab,
what's the waistcoat like? Are you talking the tailored kind ?
it is lovely, if only i could cut my body in half length ways and find me a red one.
Welll im wearing one crocheted for me by an answerbanker.

No names as she did it whilst offline for a short while. Its a pretty shade of blue. She really did work hard at it .

Hi Sachs

in Answer to your question no it isnt a tailored one its one people normally wear with jeans and a t shirt.
depending on the fabric i think they look nice. the important thing i think is that it is long enough to look streamlined. i would probably wear it done up without a top underneath with a pair of wide leg trousers heels and a waistbelt. if you like it and you feel good in it you will be able to carry it off so whether its in fashion or not is irrelevant
