Just rubbed off some bird poo on bonnet of black car, I used fairy liquid and the wrong side of a washing up sponge .. it has made a round, matt area on the bonnet instead of shiny. Would a little black car polish on this area sort this out ?? Many thanks.

Try that new 'Ice' car polish, I've got a black car and it brought dull ares on my bonnet up beautifully. Worth a try at least.

I have some T Cut stuff. Can I use it just on the damaged area or do I have to use it all over the bonnet and how do I do it? Does the car have to be dry ?

All you have done is rub the top surface off the lacqeur,
By all means use T Cut on the damaged area, its very mild.
Then give the whole bonnet a wax.

Thanks everyone, I put some T Cut on it carefully and it doesn't show any more. That'll teach me a lesson.
