why am i getting surface bubbles on my gloss paintwork when using a sponge roller Iam using old paint , I dont know if its the paint or the roller , I dont know if they are water or air bubbles.

they will be air bubbles,remember if u use a roller on doors u need to "lay it off" with a paint brush still to get rid of the roller marks.old gloss paint should be fine a good tip is to add a small drop of white spirit to the gloss,stir it then strain it thru some old stockings to remove any bits that may be in the paint.hope this helps

Hi HAWKE, another answer could be that it needed a bit more sanding and the new paint wont adhere to old surface in patches, or it is possible that there are some greasy marks on it which will stop the new paint from sticking properly.

Idid the laying off with the brush tecnique which worked. I take the preperation answer advice too . man y thanks to all .
