Thank you for your replies,he has just been to the police station and they gave him his court date and also told him there is only one witness and no cctv film so do you think the court will still be on the stewards side and not take into account my sons word,he has no previous convictions or anything.

Clearly, the Crown Prosecution Service have decided that there is sufficient evidence with which to bring a charge against your son, since, as you say, your son has now been given a date for the hearing.

It is now a matter entirely for the court to decide on your son's guilt or innocence, as the case may be. But I would advise that he consults a Solicitor if he feels strongly that he is not guilty of any offence.
If he gets a black solicitor it might work in has favour
If he gets a black solicitor it might work in his favour
or her favour
