What would either of these tell you about cartilidge damage? What repair work could be done? Why does one of my knees feel kinda crumbly and crunchy when I flex it, and the other one is smooth. I mean by that, an irregular movement, kind of not smooth. Also, why would that make it more prone to the occassional 'popping' when I walk about.
It feels sore in the cold.
doc useless, btw.

My Yoga instructor said that people with bad backs & joint problems, had been coming to her for years & the very gentle exercises did help.
What happened there - it's like waiting for a bus, then two come along together!
happens to me a lot. thought I was pressing 'submit' twice.I've had various answers banned for being double posts.
I think maybe muscle lengths contribute? If you have a muscle that is too short, can't it pull up the ligament and start warping a knee out of shape, causing subsequent damage? Yoga would probably target this directly by restretching to more normal sizes. ???????????????/
sorry, not ligament, I mean tendon.

If your knee is still painful & uncomfortable, I really think you should go back to your GP for advice.

I can say that not only isYoga good for both body & mind, it also gets you out of the house! The instructor amazes us, as she's 82 & puts us all to shame! I can hear her now - "come on ladies, streeeeetcccchhhh those calf muscles - ouch!

Hi margeb, saw your message on the 'confession' thread. I am here, but i have no experience of this issue, and so nothing of value to contribute on this - thanks for the mention though.

That said - I know that the 'popping' sound is made by the gooey joint lubrication stretching until it 'pops' in the same way that people blow bubble gum and pop it. It does sound as though  IDIOTIC needs to get some professional advice, from a new GP, or if ithat's not possible, a Consultant referral from the current one.
