Entered a competition and Ive won a holiday. It is a genuine holiday, no timeshare, and no payment required. I have spoken to the travel agent and we have all the paperwork sent by post. We fly out to Tunisia on Sat 18 Oct for a week.

The only thing is the hotel and airline have less than positive reviews.

Would you go?

If it was a genuine competition, then congratulations!
I'm a bit baffled about an airline having less than positive reviews. Which airline is it and who wrote the reviews?
Ditto the hotel.

Karthago Airlines to Tunisia. I have won an all inclusive trip for a week. The flight is 3 hours and then there is a two and a half hour transfer because it's not into the main Tunis Airport.

The hotel reviews are just internet ones that have been written by people who have been on holiday.
as long as they have all the right letters on their sites you should be fine, like ABTA and the like
Don't forget, most people write reviews when they are upset about something. Good reviews are much rarer. However, there are some good reviews about the airline (and more bad) but don't let that daunt you.

Yes I would go and treat it as an adventure. A free holiday would be great and Tunisia will be hot at this time of the year.

It is a good point made that people are more likely to write a bad review than a good one.

Just need to convince my fella that it's worth the risk and it's not going to be a lot of effort for nothing.
You just need to make the most of it. I stayed in Tunisia once and got given a horrible old room. I chatted to some of the other guests that arrived with us and they too did not have good rooms until they argued and got a better room. I took the tip and went to the reception desk and got given another room. It wasn't much better. I said it wasn't any better. I then got another room and this time it was nice with a sea view. It was one of the older 3* hotels in Hammamet. If I remember we went for allocated on arrival, so I got what I paid for. Overall it wasn't a bad holiday. The food was not brilliant but it was ok. I thought it was a very friendly hotel with fellow brits chatting to one another. We did not get our own dinner table we had to share with two other couples and this made you make new friends. I could of written a review about my experience of the size of puddings there. The waiter came up and said "You want cake or orange" I said cake. Well I needed a microscope it was that small. This was the only holiday where I lost 2lbs in a week.
