You can get mobility cars , but can you get mobility scooters c/trikes?
And if not why not?
I'm sure there are folk these would suit , and at least they wouldn't be getting a government taxi for all the hangers on you see cruising in mobility cars.
Why didn't they keep the old blue disabled cars?i bet the local mobility type in your street wouldn't be seen dead in one of them?
suddenly able to walk to the bus stop i bet

Those invalid carriages were incredibly dangerous and impractical.

Nobody gets 'given' a motability car. They can choose to keep their mobility part of DLA as cash and use it on taxis or anything they like; or they can use it to pay wholly or in part for the lease of a motability car.

You can use the mobility component of DLA to buy a scooter, trike or a car. You can do what you like with it.
And don't forget those blue parking badges can be used in any vehicle - they are not restricted to motability cars, so you can't tell by looking whether the car is owned or leased
or in fact you can swap the DLA it for a mobility scooter
