More than one picture at a time into powerpoint slides

I enjoy creating powerpoint presentations of holidays but find it rather laborious to only be able to transfer one picture at a time onto a slide in the presentation. Is it possible to select more than one pic at a time from My Pictures and insert into more than slide?

Why not download Microsoft's free "Photostory"? It creates a slideshow out of a selection of pictures - you can add music (and - I think - captions) and there's other options to fool around with: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digit alphotography/photostory/default.mspx
