Can someone please let me know what the piece of string music is that they use as backing music during the deliberations on X Factor broadcast on Sunday 28th Sept?

I think it was Barber's Adagio For Strings. There is a modern dance version by William Orbit that is really good!
Or it might have been this..Hoppipolla by the group Sigor Ros

Not 100 % sure but did they play ...An ending(ascent) by Brian Eno

Again, unfortunately, it isn't Brian Eno.

Funnily enough the same piece of music is being used by Channel Five to advertise the film 'Harts War'.
its definetely Barbers 'adagio for strings'. I know it very well.
Yes, Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber was played on this episode but I think the piece you're looking for is actually called 'Finding Beauty' by Craig Armstrong. From the album 'As If To Nothing' and featured in the film Saving Private Ryan. Hopefully this helps.
I have been searching for that piece of music for ages! Its Craig Armstrong - Finding Beauty ... the bit where they're deciding which contestants are going through... hopefully this is the bit you're on about? The music is so beautiful and moving.
