You can try those sonic devices some work but they are very finnicky.

Other than that poison or get a cat.

chocolate, they can't resist it
Agree with Jules 001 - they love peanut butter - so said the guy who sold me the trap! We put it on the humane traps and caught two, took the mice a couple of miles away and let them go. Haven't had any since.
They cant resist mouse/rat poison. Most important to wear gloves when setting traps, else they smell human scent and are wary.

Find where they get in and block.
My OH left some jam spilt on the worktop before he went to bed one night- we came down in the morning to find a mouse with its back feet stuck in it, trying to lick its way out - he had to pull it off the jam to put it outside. I think thatthey are attracted by anything sweet

I find the sonic devices are very effective and although I have taken other precautions have found no sign of rodents and last year we were besieged by voles( on a five year cycle!!) However I know the blighters are lurking as they are settling down in the outhouses where there are no deterrents. It is important with the sonics that the waves brush along the floor and that the device has a clear field.Any change of direction, such as an L shaped room will require an additional unit as they only work in a straight line and as long as the indicator indicates you know it is working.
Mice seem to like the pelleted dry dog food too.
