Get them on prescription only from your GP, as you need to have a checkover first.
Ooh Ive heard there are horrible side-effects, not as bad as that Zyban or whatever the first one was, everyone will react differently tho. They are prescription only !
I stopped in 1994 using the patches.

Good luck
Hi there, I have looked at your question and I would suggest taking a look at this site. They are very helpful over there. www.onelifeboard.com
I hope that is of some help. Good Luck.

P.S

Patches did it for me really well :-)

Thanks everyone for your answers! Really hope I can do it...Ive got to
Make sure you take lots of water with them, especially when you go onto the full dose - I've been on them a couple of weeks now and made the mistake of forgetting about the water the other day. I was violently sick within an hour of taking it. They do make you quite queasy for a while, maybe an hour or so, about an hour after taking it, but if you can put up with that its well worth it. Good luck!
I also used the patches (like Ethel) and haven't looked back...but each to their own.. Good luck lil ! As they say, don't give up on giving up :)
