what are your rights regarding a shared drive/access to rear off property

There is no general rule that can help you.
You are going to have to look at the specific ownership of the land on which the shared access sits, and what easements (legal private right of way) you and others have over the land in question. It is that which determines your (and others) rights.
Please tell us what specific issue you are trying to resolve.

The houses are in blocks off 4. the access to the rear off each middle 2 houses are down the shared driveway. that's not the problem the 5Th house i.e other side off drive has said that i cant drive down to unload or load my van. That i have to walk it down and round to the rear off the house
Therefore you need to check if any covenants have been placed on the access.
My Daughter has a sizable plot of ground but can't do a thing with it due to covenants placed on the usage by previous residents
