I was thinking of getting one, its half price now to 40.00 it Hornby and comes with loads of extras and scenery even a mat with fake counrtyside features.

I had one as a child passed down to me but it never worked once, but a remember the track and carrages fondely even the old smell on everything.

But will I use this once and then it gather dust? I 'm a bit depressed at the mo so it might to a good investment in that sense. And at xmas I could set it up as an xmas village with snow etc???

Any thoughts.

We all get to a stage in our lives when we want to go back to our childhood....and be nostalgic..'.I remember when'....sort of feeling.

Obviously yours has come now.
:-)

First of all, where did you see that deal, cos it sounds good!

Secondly, i guess it depends on what you enjoyed - if it needs you to imagine yourself as the driver, that is probab;y harder to do as an adult.

If it was more about the construction and mechanics then that wont have changed (other than your abilities) you may end up wanting more though!
get an xbox or a DS instead.

annie...it is in woolworths its called the 'HORNBY MIDLAND FLYER TRAIN SET' I have spent all morning price checking it and it is only on ebay new for 55 with 7-8 postage I think. It is not even on the hornby website. But its a good set with everything I like the mat with scenery. There is only one in stock at my store and they have lost it so I might ring them up and ask them to find it before I go in again. I waited 20min yesterday.

Yes it is the bulding part I like the most I have lego and knex all that stuff but always looking for new assembly toys with lots of pieces. I like to sit down and just forget all my worries by building things lol

If you enjoy building, another one to look out for is fischertecknik - a bit more of a challenge than lego - my son loves it, but it's not cheap!

They look great I like the 'fun park set'
My son got the super trucks set for Christmas last year and he has played with it a lot - he is only 8, but he is a whizz with all these things - he has been bugging us for the lego mindstorms robot, but I am not sure if it may be too advanced. Have you thought about the lego railway and combine two interests in one go?
