When my son was born he was bought a girl & boy duo of teddies. His father & I named them Gertie Gusset & Harold Stinkyfinger.

Some found this weird. Especially the Gertie Gusset one.

He's 26 next month - he still has Gertie & Harold & will pass them onto his own children. Will he change their names? Will he hell as like.

Any other bizarre names given to teddies/dolls etc? I had 'Blackie' my beloved Black Tiny Tears - I loved her, but mum made me change her name to Belinda. Scarred me for life that did.....

I'm more concerned by stinkyfinger than I am by Gertie's surname!

Mini Boo has a Mr Ladybird teddy. I'ts a giant ladybird with a top hat on, so it looks male.

i do sometimes worry that she may have gender issues when she's grown thanks to Mr Ladybird.

My mum who is now 72 had a horrible black velvet doll when she was little called Gigger. She still has it sitting in her bedroom. It's horrible. I had a gorgeous teddy called Taffy. My Granny used to tell me the story of Taffy was a Welshman...... and that's how he got his name.
ohhh, you've brought back memories - I had a black tiny tears too and her name was Sally, She was my favourite doll but my older sister bit her fingers off in a fit of temper !
