You say it is not on a site. What is it on then? If it is a single van on a single plot of land, does it have Planning Permission to be there - either for 'holiday home' use (which normally limits the maximum no. of months occupation in a year to less than 12 - which means it cannot be lived in permanently) or residential domestic permission.

Quite so, IAP. In the New Forest I am prepared to wager it will be impossible to get the necessary Planning Permission. It is a location where lots of people would like to have a holiday home. If PP doesn't already exist, this is a non-starter. Beware also that it may have residential planning permission for an agricultural worker only - this is precisely how you find farmers putting up caravans in unexpected places for their workers to live in.
