Canon printer IP2600

I know nothing about computers so please speak to me in plain English!!! I have a laptop and have just purchased a Canon printer as above. I need a USB cable but I have no idea what that means or what type to look for!!!! Help!

USB cable is a length of wire with a flat kinda plug that fits into your computer

Thank you so much, kinda got the hang of USB now as I use those cables that plug into my laptop from my camera, camcorder etc. None of those cables fit the printer? Do I need to buy a specific one? What would I look for? I know.... I am such a girl!!!!

'spose you can buy one here but am surprised you weren't supplied with one on purchase of the printer.

Return the printer as 'not compatible' and buy a HP 4 in 1 (that's a decent machine) with all fittings, easy to install.
