Motoring Myths

What are your favourite motoring myths? Things that are belived by a lot of people but are in fact untrue, wrong or non existant, eg the concept of "Right or way"

That it is Ok to stay in the middle lane of the motorway at all times

People who don't check the operation times of bus lanes and move out of them regardless, even taxis moving out of bus / taxi lanes!

People braking for speed cameras when they were at or under the limit in the first place

Thinking He/She is the best driver on the road.

You are waiting at a junction to turn right - a car's headlamp on the major road flashes .

Thinking that the above means it is ok to proceed .

My fav myth is turning left even when lights are red......its allowed in USA and since we're supposed to follow their trends....I've started that one here!

That backing out of your driveway onto the road is easier and more convenient for everyone, than backing into it the evening before!
