Does your partner have a split personality? On the whole they are ok but once they get upset - Which can be for any reason they become verbally abusive and once that fails to generate a reaction then they become violent.

I think you are in a potentially dangerous situation.

If you can get out now before something happens, and it will.

You must feel you are living with a ticking time bomb, this will not do you any good.

Seriously is all the stress worth it ?

Leave whilst you can. go to a CAB and ask for some help, please.

Brenda, thank you for the advise and I took it sometime ago. I did leave because as you said it was a time bomb waiting to blow. Booze just made the matter escalate further, and the unnatural behaviour intensified.

I have been scared because I could not understand why someone who claimed to love you could act in such a wicked way. Furthermore, I thought by staying I could help to sort out their abusive nature. But I failed every time. Even up to today I lay down and think about how I could have done more talking to understand their reasons for their intense anger.

As they say time is a healer and I am happily on my way.
Usually guilty about something......you'll soon find out what and its probably nothing to do with you. If he's the sole bread-winner he could be worried about work & responsibilities.
